It is the greenest island in the Cyclades with impressively high mountains and fertile valleys. There are beaches that are among the most beautiful in Greece. Naxos is an island of beautiful old churches, monasteries and Venetian castles and homes. So, the island is not attractive only to those seeking sunlight, bars and bikinis, but also those looking for a little Greek culture and nature to go along with it.
It is an island which promises unforgettable vacations to the visitor. Tucked in between the isles of Iraklia and Koufonissia, off the southeastern coast of Naxos, Schinoussa promises unique experiences in the surrounding expanse of turquoise and deep blue waters, romantic sunsets, nights under the moonlight straight out of fairy tales, exciting hiking trails but also unforgettable gastronomic delights.
It is one of the most beautiful Greek islands in the Aegean Sea. Located near Naxos and Ios, on the southern side of the Cyclades, this island amazes visitors with the natural beauty, the traditional architecture and the fabulous beaches. Its virgin beauty inspired the filmmaker Luc Besson to shoot scenes of the movie The Big Blue in the beach of Agia Anna. The most famous sight of Amorgos island is the impressive Monastery of Hozoviotissa, constructed on the slopes of a rock with breathtaking view to the sea.
Ios means "flower"
It is one of the most beautiful islands of the Cyclades, like a flower. According to the ancient tradition, Ios was the homeland of Homer’s mother and the final resting place of the great epic poet. Hora lies very close to the harbor in Ormos and greets the travelers, built in an amphitheatre-like manner on the slope of a hill, on the top of which there are ruins of a mediaeval castle. This is a listed traditional village, one of the finest examples of Cycladic architecture. Snow-white little houses, picturesque arcade-covered, the twelve windmills, churches with arched belfries and light blue domes create a unique residential area.
Considered by most to be one of the most visually impressive and popular Greek island: Traditional architecture, beaches, vineyards, great local food, shopping (and donkeys) await you in Santorini.
